Jenn Amankrah is a Ghanaian-Canadian filmmaker and visual artist based in Montreal. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film Production from Concordia University. Her practice explores representation and movement, focusing on how the body is perceived and experienced through gesture and physical presence. Working across photography, video, and installation, she seeks to reveal invisible states such as tension, effort, vulnerability, and transformation. Her work engages with repetition and forms of bodily discipline, as well as the translation of movement into visual language. She also develops material approaches to image-making, including textile printing and hand-assembled processes. Her work has been presented in academic and independent contexts, and she continues to develop experimental practices at the intersection of cinema and installation.
